7 Strafers met at McDonald's at 680/Mission Blvd. Mike Coustier (coming out of retirement), David Grace, Joel Ancheta, Ryan Yanagihara, Arnald Basallaje, Devin Higashi, and myself (behind the camera). Our destination was a road new to most of us, called Tesla Road. Tesla Road starts in Livermore and meanders its way over and around the hills and eventually dumps you out on 580 which then connects to I-5. Tesla is a fairly fast road with big sweepers and a tricky downhill, decreasing radius, right hander that gave everyone a hard time. Not really worth the long ride out there. Next time we'll try and hit Patterson Pass Road. At the 580 junction we headed south and got on I-5 where we all had some fun seeing how "slow" these sportbikes really are. <sarcasm intended> A few miles down brought us to the Del Puerto Canyon Road exit and we all pulled over for some gas and a quick break then headed up Del Puerto Canyon Road. At the Junction we see David Wright and company leaving back where we came from. After a quick lunch we all headed down Mines Road where the chip seal situation isn't as bad as we thought. From the bottom of Mines when then cut through Livermore and jump on 84 which brings us to Calaveras Road. During a quick stop Ryan decides to wage war on a colony of squirrels. From Calaveras we all headed down into Santa Clara where Joel had found a beautiful clover leaf to play on. From there we all headed home. A fine day of riding indeed.
Sorry about the photos. Our normal action photo guy didn't bring his camera so it was up to me to take photos.
