Hwy 1/Skagg's Springs
Road - June 30th, 2002

The main meeting spot was San
Rafael. 19 riders total showed up for this ride. That is unusually large
but still fun. The group was split into a/b groups and we took off down
101 towards Lucas Valley Road which winds up and over the hills and drops
you down near Point Reyes. Gassed up, and then headed up the coast on
brand new asphalt all the way to Bodega Bay. Weather was perfect and roads
were pristine.
After lunch in Bodega Bay we
did a straight shot up to Stewarts Point. The presence of a LEO caused
us to alter our route and we took Tin Barn Road which forks off from Skagg's
and runs along the ridgeline. Tin Barn becomes a host of other little
fun roads and eventually becomes Meyers Grade and drops you in Jenner.
Another route will bring you to Guernville off 116.
We didn't get to hit the nice
section of Skagg's but the all the roads we hit were still worth the ride.
I had a blast and I'm sure everyone else did.
