East Bay - April 9th, 2002Write up by Jimil I was pretty excited about this ride. We were gonna hit some roads that I have never been on before and I was looking forward to riding new roads and meeting new riders. What was a bit strange about this ride was that there were more new riders than there were 'Strafers. Of the Strafer members, only myself and Dave Wright showed. I figured the rest of the guys were watching the plethora of motorcycle racing that was on all day. We had a total of 9 riders show up at the meeting spot in San Ramon. Myself on my YZF600R, Dave W. on his ZX-1100, Jerry on his Katana, Dan on his ZX-9R, Brad on his ZX-7RR, Aaron on his new GSXR1000, Rich on his new R1, and another guy on a ZX-1100 but I didn't catch his name and he only rode with us part ways. There was also Eric (I think) on a SRX600. Damn cool bike....that SRX! Dan led us out on various roads in the area...and we managed to hit a whole bunch of them. To name a few and in no particular order we hit Crow Canyon, Redwood Road, The Wall, San Pablo Damn Road, Castro Ranch, Alhambra Valley, Marsh Creek, and Morgan Territory Road. We ended our ride in Dublin at a biker friendly cafe called Celebrities. The food was good and so was the company. It was a great day for riding and great meeting some new riders. Till the next one.... |
