Mt. Hamilton / Del Puerto / Mines Run - April 22, 2001

Once again perfect weather on a beautiful Sunday morning - is there any better reason to get out of bed? The 'Strafers met up again at the Jack in the Box on McKee, this time to take the flipside direction of the run from the previous week. Some word-of-mouth advertising combined with web-board evangelism gave us an especially large turnout of 16 riders. This week's winners of the "dumbass latecomer" award were Glen, his English buddy Darren, and your humble narrator Dave. Glen's excuse was that he'd just finished reassembling his YZF in Dave's garage. Showing rather more trust in Glen's mechanical abilities than any good friend could expect, Darren accepted the YZF as his mount for the day.

Mike and Jimil led the way up Mt. Hamilton Road, twisty, a little bumpy, and thoroughly enjoyable. We rendezvoused at the Lick Observatory and were treated to a spectacular view of San Jose and the surrounding hills. Below (left to right): Cary, Joe, Jesse, Joel, Ryan, Jimil and Mike get a great view on a spectacular morning. (next)
